Pummu Talladega Car Generations Explained (Gen 7, Gen 5/COT & Soft-body)
How Pummu Talladega's car generations differ, which one to race, and why scheme codes only work on the right generation.
Pummu Talladega's car roster is split by generation, and the generation decides far more than the body shape: it decides which scheme codes you can use, how the car behaves in the draft, and how it reacts when someone turns you.
If you only remember one thing: scheme codes are generation-locked. A Gen 5/COT code will not apply to a Gen 7 car. Check the car before you blame the code.
Gen 7
The current generation and the default choice for most players.
- Newest bodies and the ones the developer keeps adding schemes for.
- Pack racing at Talladega depends on the draft, so Gen 7 is the common pick in public races.
- This is also where the largest share of our documented scheme codes sits.
Gen 5 / COT
The "Car of Tomorrow" era cars.
- Heavier, older bodies with a distinct look.
- Big scheme library - the community labels each code with a driver and sponsor, which is why our Gen 5/COT code list doubles as a driver index.
- Different crash behaviour from Gen 7, which makes them popular for wreck-focused runs.
Soft-body cars
Soft-body cars are not a normal generation - they are a physics feature.
- Panels deform instead of instantly breaking off, so crashes look and behave differently.
- They are limited to VIP servers, per the official game description.
- Heavier simulation means lower frame rates on weaker devices.
